The EMO-tings of a First Year Law Student!

British Prime Minister Tony Blair gave another speech the other day.    As usual, it combines both common and good sense in one, a feat so rare by a politician and national leader these days.

He is what President Clinton would never, or could never be and is soooo much more thoughtful and articulate than President Bush regarding Iraq, the GWT and the world today without compromising his values and mettle like so many prissy EU elitist types.

Blair is a lion who understands this is a LIBERAL war and campaign we are fighting for.  why so many so called "progressives" and those on the left fail to see the big picture eludes me.  Politicians can wax lofty rhetoric about the future, or they can give an all too human detailed account of the day-to-day realities that stand in the way of such a future.  Blair is one of those rare politicians who can do both.

"The basic thesis is that the defining characteristic of today's world is its interdependence; that whereas the economics of globalisation are well matured, the politics of globalisation are not; and that unless we articulate a common global policy based on common values, we risk chaos threatening our stability, economic and political, through letting extremism, conflict or injustice go unchecked"
